The early result in this case was incredibly encouraging. At the 24–48 hour stage, there is still swelling, healing, and change happening. That is completely normal. Immediate dentures are not the final “forever” fit on day one. The gums and bone continue to remodel after teeth are removed, and the denture will need adjustments as healing progresses.

But the benefit is powerful: the patient gets to maintain their appearance, confidence, and ability to smile while their mouth heals. This is one of the most important things for patients to understand about immediate dentures. They are not just “fake teeth.” They are part of a carefully planned transition. They help protect the patient from having to go without teeth, while also giving us a foundation to work from as the tissues heal and the long-term plan develops.
